Owais works closely with business owners and buyers to execute transactions across a range of lower middle market industries, including software and SaaS, healthcare, manufacturing, and professional services. He supports clients throughout the sell-side process — from preparing CIMs and financial analyses to coordinating buyer outreach, managing diligence, and driving deals through closing.
Prior to joining Synergy, Owais worked on the buy side at Banyan Software, a permanent capital private equity firm focused on acquiring and scaling vertical software businesses. There, he supported acquisitions from sourcing through post-LOI diligence, built operating and valuation models, and partnered with investment committees to evaluate growth, profitability, and risk across multiple transactions.
Earlier in his career, Owais was part of the Transaction Services team at PwC, where he supported buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements, including quality of earnings and working capital analyses. His experience across private equity, financial diligence, and sell-side advisory enables him to anticipate buyer concerns and position businesses with clarity and credibility.
Owais is known for his responsiveness, attention to detail, and strong execution discipline. He is currently pursuing a Master of Finance at the University of Illinois Chicago and has also completed the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certification.
