Business Brokers for Selling Kentucky Companies

Reaching Buyers for Your Kentucky Business

Your best buyer could be an experienced operator nearby, a company expanding into Kentucky, or an investment group seeking an established business. Our relationships across the Northeast, the South, and other regions help us reach potential buyers beyond your immediate market.

We look at each buyer’s financial resources, relevant experience, and reasons for acquiring your company. Our experience across a variety of industries helps us explain the strengths that make your business attractive, including customer relationships, employees, capabilities, and opportunities for growth.

We work with owners throughout Kentucky, including Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Owensboro, and Northern Kentucky. If you also own the premises, we can discuss how selling your business and property, or retaining the property and leasing it to the buyer, could fit your plans.

We also help you consider the transition a buyer will need and how that fits your retirement plans or other goals after the sale.

A Confidential Approach to Selling Your Business

You need to keep running your company while exploring a sale. We market the opportunity without publicly naming your business and review prospective buyers before sharing sensitive information. Buyers must sign a confidentiality agreement before receiving your company’s identity and confidential details.

We also consider potential buyers’ financial capacity, experience, and acquisition plans. This helps focus your time on serious conversations and gives you a coordinated process for sharing information as discussions progress.

Introducing Qualified Buyers and Moving the Sale Forward

Once a buyer is qualified and interested, we arrange a conversation so you can discuss the business, ask questions, and assess the fit. We help both sides prepare, coordinate follow up questions, and move promising discussions toward an offer.

Our 15 step sales process can move relatively quickly. We are usually able to reach step 9, introducing qualified buyers, within 1 to 8 weeks of starting the process, and we can normally introduce multiple buyers during that time. Timing depends on the business and the information available. Offers, due diligence, financing, and closing follow those introductions.

Comparing Offers and Finding the Right Buyer

We aim to generate multiple offers so you can compare the price, cash paid at closing, financing requirements, transition responsibilities, and likelihood of completion. A buyer’s understanding of your business can be especially important when you are ready to step away.

One of our clients illustrates this approach. Packaging Supplies, Inc., also known as PSI Bags, was a packaging distributor that generated over $1 million in annual revenue. Owner Fred Cohen wanted a buyer with industry experience. Chris Sampras brought in multiple offers, and the seller selected a packaging industry buyer with experience completing acquisitions. Organized financial records and responsive advisers helped the transaction move from listing to closing in just over two months.

“To my surprise, Chris made it much less stressful than I had imagined. Deal was done and funded extremely quickly.”

The right approach depends on your business and your goals. We bring that same attention to buyer fit, deal terms, and the ownership transition to Kentucky companies across a variety of industries.
